EMG-6-250 Local Flights
Carol Carpenter Flies the EMG-6-250. These are the last flights on the EMG-6-250 . The engine and many of the parts were removed to complete Prototype #2 and to facilitate the Installation of the Polini 250 into the Cabin of Prototype #3. This will be a completely enclosed version similar to Prototype #2 but #2 is currently being fitted with the Electric Power Plant.

EMG-6-250 Fun Flying September 2015
Our First flight after returning from the Oshkosh AirVenture 2015 Airshow. After reassembly and a good pre-flight we are back in the air. In this video we decided to get some video from a little different perspective.

Un-Box Polini 250 Engine
In this video we are UN-Boxing a new Polini 250 dual spark engine that will be mounted on the EMG-6 motor glider.

EMG-6 at Oshkosh AirVenture 2015
The EMG-6 flew during every available session during air venture 2015. However there was only one session during the very 1st day that we were able to shoot video. My son Kristian Was the cameraman. This year at Oshkosh was the best year in 10 years in terms of the attendance in the ultralight area. With I think 30+ vendors also a new record. The flight operations area was very crowded and the amount of flight time was somewhat limited. Most of the flight operations windows were limited And typically we would only get 4 circuits within the traffic pattern before we were shut down. We did manage however to get a total of 4.3 hours on the aircraft at the show.

EMG-6-250 Polini 250 First Test Run
This is the first test run of the Polini 250 dual spark engine on the EMG-6-250 motor glider. During the run in we get really excited about the full throttle run as we were primarily testing the propeller load, and found that we had achieved an absolutely perfect prop engine combination. Our full throttle rpm was 7425.

EMG 6 250 Test Flight
This is the last segment of the initial test flight for the EMG-6-250 with the Polini 250 dual spark engine installed. Most of the test flight has been working through the break-in procedures by varying RPM, speed, and load.

EMG-6 Powered Flight Test (Predator 37 sustainer motor)
Flight test #55 and #56 testing the viability of the predator 37 sustainer motor.

EMG-6 Test Flight #54 (First Flight With Electric Power)
This is the 1st test flight series using the predator 37 electric sustainer motor on the EMG-6. This is the 3rd of 3 test flights that were conducted on July 7, 2014. In this video we get a surprise malfunction during the end of the flight.

EMG-6 (1st Electric Motor Test Run) Predator 37 Sustainer Motor
1st operational test of the predator 37 sustainer motor for the EMG-6. In reality the very 1st test was not caught on video. It lasted only a few seconds until we realized that the propeller was turning backwards and so we shut the motor down and reversed the outside leads on the motor and corrected the problem. The 1st test run was done without any instrumentation and everything worked well. The test was discontinued while we installed and optical tachometer. Once the optical tachometer and the motor temperature sensor were installed we reassembled everything and ran the next test which you can see in the video. The optical tachometer sensor was not functioning as it should so we stopped once again removed the optical tachometer sensor and wired in a sensor directly into the motor. This is also shown on the video and the initial test showed erratic tachometer operation. So we once again disassembled the system and properly soldered in the leads into the motor wires. Everything on the sustainer motor system is now operational and we should be able to start flight test soon.
