Low Cost Hydroforming
Low cost hydroforming on the Rainbow Aviation Video channel with your host Brian Carpenter. In this episode were going to be taking a look at a low cost way to manufacture your own aluminum hydro-formed parts.
This is a companion video for technically speaking article published in the May 2016 sport aviation magazine

EMG-6 Electric Motor Glider Webinar Hosted By EAA
This is a remastered Version of the EMG-6 Electric Motor Glider webinar hosted by EAA 10-19-2016. We have added video in post and cut some of the content to make it more relevant. this is a good introduction to the EMG-6 electric motor glider.

3D Printed Vortex Generators (Part 3)
3-D printed vortex generators part 3. In this video we step through the installation process and placement of vortex generator using a template and commercial grade double sticky tape.

3D Printed Vortex Generators (Part 4)
In part 4 of 3D printed vortex generators video, we go through the complete process of designing a vortex generator in SOLIDWORKS, exporting an STL file to the Zortrax software, and then printing and extracting the 3D printed vortex generator.

3D Printed Vortex Generators (Part 2)
3-D printed vortex generators part 2. In this video we step through the installation process and placement of vortex generator version 1-150. We do a comparative analysis from the baseline tests that we conducted in part 1, and provide some analysis of the process. We are using the Quicksilver GT-500 that is currently being used as the tow aircraft for the EMG-6 electric motor glider as the test bed for our 3-D printed vortex generators.

3D Printed Vortex Generators (Part 1)
3-D printed vortex generators part 1. In this video we tuft the left wing of the Quicksilver GT-500 tow plane. In this video we get a good look at the basic airflow patterns around the wing during multiple flight configurations of the aircraft.

3D Printing For Experimental Aircraft
A look at the use of 3-D printing technology to build the EMG-6 Electric Motor Glider. All of the 140+ 3-D printed part files available for free download.

Flight Control Gap Seals (From Pool Noodles)
In this "how it's made" episode of building the EMG-6 we look at a cool little trick for converting pool noodles into flight control gap seals. For details on how we manufactured the cutting dies and refined the cutting process visit the EMG web site.

Tube Marking (Building the EMG-6)
Another episode of "Building the EMG-6". In this episode we look at the process of marking tubing. Pretty much every component on the EMG 6 uses tubing for construction. In this video we show you how to accurately and easily mark tubing for these applications.

Setting Up The EMG-6 Aircraft at Air Venture 2015 (Time Lapse)
Looking through some of the video footage from last year, I found this time lapse that we had created during the setup of the EMG-6 at the 2015 Oshkosh airshow.

EMG-6 at Oshkosh AirVenture 2015
The EMG-6 flew during every available session during air venture 2015. However there was only one session during the very 1st day that we were able to shoot video. My son Kristian Was the cameraman. This year at Oshkosh was the best year in 10 years in terms of the attendance in the ultralight area. With I think 30+ vendors also a new record. The flight operations area was very crowded and the amount of flight time was somewhat limited. Most of the flight operations windows were limited And typically we would only get 4 circuits within the traffic pattern before we were shut down. We did manage however to get a total of 4.3 hours on the aircraft at the show.

EMG 6 Flight on Google Earth Overlay
This is test flight number 55 and 56 from a little different perspective. We have overlaid the flight video with the .kml file from the Ascent flight data recorder output to Google earth.
